It may be localized the the skin as in boils and abscesses or it may radiate a nerve as in leprotic neuritis and herpes zoster. It may be deep boring and burning as in herpes zoster, shooting as in tabes dorsalis, throbbing as in furuncles, carbuncles and cellulitis.
